Tsavo National Park

TTsavo National Park, one of Kenya’s largest and oldest protected areas, is divided into Tsavo East and Tsavo West, covering over 22,000 square kilometers. Known for its vast wilderness, dramatic landscapes, and rich wildlife, Tsavo offers a raw, untouched safari experience. Tsavo East is famous for its red-dusted elephants, open savannah plains, the Yatta Plateau (one of the world’s longest lava flows), and the life-giving Galana River. It is more open and ideal for game viewing. Tsavo West is more rugged and scenic, featuring volcanic hills, lava fields, the crystal-clear Mzima Springs, and diverse habitats ranging from woodlands to wetlands. It is known for its black rhinos, leopards, hippos, and crocodiles. Together, the parks host Kenya’s “Big Five,” over 500 bird species, and a wealth of other wildlife, making Tsavo a prime destination for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers.
